You may remember after the success of the Naracoorte trip, that I mentioned the same theatre company (Ozact) were planning a staging of another Shakespeare play, "The Tempest" at Loch Ard Gorge on the Great Ocean Rd. (I've actually seen them do this show, at that place, twice, and it's a great setting. Plus Loch Ard gorge is one of my favorite places).
Well they've released the dates for it and bookings are open. January 6-21, and then January 26-28 (the Australia day long weekend, with school presumably starting the next day). Tickets for the show itself are not a problem and can wait, but to make it a Naracoorte-style trip we would also need to book accommodation at Port Campbell, and since we are talking the summer holidays here, bookings for THAT need to be made as soon as possible.
So, as soon as practical, I need us to narrow down dates and I need people to commit to coming.
The sort of time we would be looking at would be:
The three days of the long weekend
or
any four days during the January 6-21 period - that would give us a day to get there, 2 days to see the play and other stuff in the area (eg. twelve apostles, beaches, Otway Fly etc.) and a day to get home.
So what is needed is:
- your name,
- whether you are or are not going to come (yes or no only)
- if yes, what dates you can't make it.
PLEASE don't post until you are prepared to give a definite yes or no, and
PLEASE don't post any comments apart from what I've asked for above. I know there will be questions about price and accommodation etc, but I don't have any information at all about those things yet. When I do, I'll open a new thread specifically to deal with questions.
I can't stress how urgent this is for people who are coming to make a commitment QUICKLY. Port Campbell is not a big place, and it is a very popular tourist town in the summer. Accommodation WILL book up quickly. You may be deciding whether to take time off work, or whether you might have family stuff to do, or whatever. Bad luck. Either you want to come or you don't, if you want to leave it on hold long enough to see whether more important stuff will get in the way, then you don't want to come bad enough anyway. If you want to come, COMMIT, and then family and work can organise itself around this trip (three months warning is more than enough) because I refuse to do it the other way around, it's too much stress for me and it leaves too many other people up in the air.

Well, I hope ya'll are having fun these holidays, I know I'm not...anyway, I wanted to say that I have made myself available to go to The Great Ocean Road, as I have a busy schedule. Though I cannot go after the 15th of January. That means I can go from the 6th of Jan to the 14th. I will also not be able to go on the "long" weekend.
