Welcome Back

Welcome back to everyone. Meetings start next week, and due to yr12 lunchtime classes and my yard duty, they will be shifted to Wednesdays this year. General meetings will be on the first Wednesday of each month, which means the first one (conveniently) is coming up this week. It will of course be ELECTIONS.
Constitution says all positions are to be declared vacant, and anyone can nominate themselves or someone else for any position. This year I want those positions to actually do something - so the treasurer actually needs to keep the books, the secretary actually needs to keep the minutes of meetings, etc. (I think we started off like that last year and then drifted off) so think hard about whether you are prepared to do what you nominate for.
There will of course be some other stuff we need to get through too. If anyone has any agenda items, please let me or Kat know as soon as possible (preferably by Tuesday).

So the treasurer, with keeping the books ... what does that involve.. lol like what does he/she have to record in the books coz last yr, i didnt know how our money was being spent... apart from us using it for excursions etc.

Did we even spend our money on anything other than excursions and costumes?

Yeah costumes and excursions is pretty much it. And most likely will be again. Although hopefully we'll get a bit more serious this year and put on some real shows, plus I am hoping (but we will be discussing this in a meeting) that RBT will pitch in as a group to support the UK trip, so finances might be more a little more complex this year.

To be honest, it's not really that important cos everything goes through the school bursar anyway, but basic book-keeping is a handy skill to have, which is why I want whoever gets it to do it properly. If you're doing accounting, business manangement, etc. it might be worth considering putting your hand up

Oh was that what that was for? I wondered about why you gave me that. I know it wasn't your fault though, cos to do it properly you would've needed my laptop. Also because the school bursar never properly organised an account for us, so half the time I didn't even know how much money we had myself.
But that's fixed now, and also I have a proper ledger book that we can use this year and keep in the filing cabinet in C2
